Kendrick Lamar Bringing m.A.A.d. Story to Sundance

The stories described in Kendrick Lamar’s lyrics, on his 2012 debut good kid, m.A.A.d. city, will play out on the big screen. Lamar has joined with director Kahlil Joseph to create a 14 minute short film based on the album. The film will premiere on August 9th at the Sundance Next Fest in Los Angeles. Joseph and Kendrick previously worked together crafting the visual elements that were a part of Lamar’s set during Kanye West's Yeezus tour. In order to properly represent Kendrick’s stories, Joseph casted locals from the streets of Los Angeles. He will host a panel at the Ace Hotel in L.A. before premiering the short film.
