Hustle, Muscle Guarantee Russell Will Average a Triple Double

Russell Westbrook’s confidence is otherworldly; but we already knew that, right? Especially considering that he was looking like one of the best players in the league just a year ago when Kevin Durant was still putting up buckets in OKC.

Indeed, that very same confidence is what has him averaging a triple double for an entire season. That’s right, a triple dip! He’s the first player since the venerable PG Oscar Robertson did so way back in 1962.

So while his confidence is justified and inline with his previous performances, nobody expected this. Prior to facing the scrappy Pheonix Suns on Friday night, Westbrook only needed six assists to guarantee his triple double average for the season and he got those by the third quarter. A triple double is one thing, a season average of 31 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds per game is utterly ridiculous.
