HBO Sports presents an intimate video portrait of the Sept. 16 pay-per-view clash between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady “GGG” Golovkin for the world middleweight championship. HBO Sports cameras and microphones captured behind-the-scenes sights and sounds plus in-ring action to tell the story of the thrilling fight from sold-out T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
HBO released a video that encapsulated the September 16th “Middleweight Supremacy” fight with Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs. Gennady “GGG” Golovkin at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The video provides backstage insight along with commentary from each fighter’s corner and HBO analysts Roy Jones, Jr., Max Kellerman, Jim Lampley, and Harold Lederman.
Entitled, “The Draw In The Desert” the piece also provides post-fight comments from Golden Boy CEO Oscar de la Hoya, Canelo Alvarez , GGG and his trainer Abel Sanchez, along with the Executive Director for the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Bob Bennett.
The controversy surrounding judge Adalaide Byrd’s score of 118-110 or Canelo Alvarez is touched on with Bennett dismissing it as a bad day for the judge. The piece concludes with the promise of a rematch.
Negotiations have already begun for the second pairing, which many believe will be scheduled for May of 2018.
