Good Morning: 10.03.12

GOOD MORNING

Today, baseball season cranks the heat up as the playoffs approach, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey exchange hostile words, President Obama prepares for his debate against Mitt Romney and new Kid Cudi.

It's that time of year again: baseball is starting to get real interesting.

Yankee fans will be ordering their Raul Ibaniez jerseys after his bomb in the 12th inning to get the Yanks past the Red Sox to maintain their lead in the AL East after the O's beat the Rays.

The Oakland A's were 9 games back in mid July. They're now tied with the Rangers, and tonight's game will determine the winner of the AL West.

Miguel Cabrera continued his Triple Crown quest last night, with 2 hits and 2 RBI. TIME analyzes whether Miggy or Mike Trout had the better season.

The last time Adam Greenberg was batting in the Majors seven years ago, he was drilled in the head with a fastball and never played in the big leagues again. The Miami Marlins gave him a shot at redemption last night against the Mets.

He faced R.A. Dickey, who's in line for the Cy Young and has pitched on a torn abdominal muscle since APRIL. WHAT?

Lolo Jones still doesn't think before she Tweets.

Mike McQueary has filed a whistleblower lawsuit against Penn State, saying his treatment from Penn State has caused him distress, anxiety, humiliation and embarrassment. I'm sure it had nothing to do with watching a child get raped and doing next to nothing about it.

The Jets have another injury problem: Santonio Holmes may be joining Darrelle Revis on the sideline as he is expected to miss the rest of the season.

FLASHING LIGHTS

"Beef” alert: Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey went at it last night during American Idol tryouts in North Carolina.

J. Cole, Frank Ocean and No I.D. were in the lab together. We don't know what they were doing, but we're excited.

Rihanna and Chris Brown were making out in NYC last night, and Brown was seen leaving her spot much later. Girl needs help, fam.

THAT S#!7 CRAY

Deer, skateboarder, 40 MPH.

DID YOU REALIZE?

The first Presidential debate is tonight, as President Obama looks to maintain his lead in the polls..

The Post takes a stab at what they're going to discuss tonight.

No doubt Mitt Romney will bring up Joe Biden's quote that the middle class has been buried uder President Obama's presidency.

The ridiculous voter ID laws the GOP attempted to pass throughout the country are largely being thrown out by state courts.

Were the attacks in Libya planned? Was the government warned? Lot of questions trending towards really bad news in this situation.

Check out Fox News' “developing story” that was already covered five years ago. Fair and Balanced, you guys.

EVERYTHING I AM

Is Hugo Chavez the man who jailed his political foes, sponsored terrorists, and left his people starving; or a revolutionary hero who empowered the poor? He's up for reelection on Sunday, in a move that will decide the fate of Venezuela. Fascinating read.

GOTTA HAVE IT

Kid Cudi tweeted his next album would be the greatest album of all time. Cudi is getting close to earning a permanent side eye, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and let you decide. Here's his latest, “King Wizard.”
