Flagrant Foul | Police Say Teen Football Player Faked Disappearance To Conceal Murder Of Mom’s Ex-Boyfriend

Washington state teenager Gabriel Michael Davies, who was a missing person, has since been found and has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder and other related charges in the death of his mother’s ex-boyfriend Daniel McCaw according to reports.

Davies and Justin Jiwoon Yoon, both 16, were formally charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree burglary and two counts of second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm in the death of McCaw.

Both Davies and Yoon are being charged as adults.

Davis was first reported missing last week after failing to attend football practice. Authorities say they found the football player’s car near Millersylvania State Park, a small amount of blood and a smashed cellphone was found near Davies’ car. Davies was later found under “suspicious circumstances” according to police.

McCaw was dating Davies’ mother, but the two had split several weeks earlier. McCaw was found in his laundry room, with a “significant amount” of blood around his body and splattered on the washing machine, according to charging documents.

Davies was turned in to the authorities by his father who said his son was involved in McCaw’s death.

According to the arrest affidavit, McCaw’s “biker buddies” approached Davies and forced him to steal something from McCaw’s safe.

Authorities say after being pressured by the “biker buddies” Davies and Yoon hatched a plan to break into McCaw’s house. It’s unclear why Yoon got involved.

Two “young skinny males” were seen on surveillance footage crawling through a doggie door, then leaving the garage about 40 minutes later and heading into McCaw’s house. Less than an hour after first arriving, the pair fled the scene with several items, including a “possible handgun,” according to authorities.

Four days afterward is when Davies was reported missing.

Davies allegedly told his father that the bikers had followed him in his car and pulled him out, shoved him into another car where they “roughed him up,” then stole his shirt and shoes. His father relayed that story to the investigators.

Davies also told his father that Yoon stabbed and shot McCaw, while he went to the safe to look for the item they were supposed to steal.

Did the bikers approach Davies only or Davies and Yoon? Why was Yoon involved? Is he just a friend of Davies? The connection between McCaw and Davies’ mother is interesting. Why did the “biker buddies” want a kid to steal something from their “friend”?

Did Davies just want to kill the guy who used to date his mother? Where is his mother, what does she have to say about all of this?

Prosecutors say Davies staged his disappearance and may have tampered with evidence.

This story is crazy and has a lot of holes we assume will be filled once more people start talking.

Both Davies and Yoon are being held on $1 million bond.
