Premier Boxing Champions: Miguel Vasquez vs. Erick Bone

Former world champion Miguel “Titere” Vazquez (35-5, 13 KOs) is set to take on super lightweight contender Erick Bone (16-3, 8 KOs) in a 10-round main event.

Bone replaces Felix Diaz, who was forced to withdraw from the bout due to injury. Bone returns to super lightweight (140 pounds) after challenging and losing to Shawn Porter and Chris Algieri at welterweight in 2015.

The 29-year-old Vazquez had a successful reign as 135-pound champion and defended his title eight times during his championship run.

After beating Ji-Hoon Kim for his title, he went on to defend it against the likes of Denis Shafikov, Mercito Gesta, Leonardo Zappavigna and Ammeth Diaz. Fighting out of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Vazquez’s most recent victory came against Jerry Belmontes. He is looking to rebound from a decision loss to Algenis Mendez in October.

The 26-year-old Bone has fought in the U.S. since 2014 and began his career stateside with victories over Francisco Figueroa, Mahonri Montes and Peter Oluoch. The Ecuadorian won the first 12 bouts of his career and his most recent losses have come at welterweight and against former world champions.

UFC Fight Night: Almeida vs. Garbrandt

Undefeated Bantamweight, Thomas Thominhas Almeida (19-0) takes on fellow undefeated and UFC debutant, Cody Garbrandt (8-0) in UFCs home court of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Almeida is currently on a three-fight knockout streak, two of which are in the first round over Canadian Yves Jabouin and Anthony Birchak.

He also holds a second round TKO over American Top Teams British veteran Bradley Pickett. This all spells for a savory resume that, if successful this Sunday, can lead to current UFC Bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz.

Garbrandt is also on a KO streak of his own having knocked out his last two opponents catapulting him into the UFC roster.

Also on the card are great matchups between Lorenz Larkin and street fighter-turned-mixed martial artist, Jorge Masvidal in what should be an epic welterweight match-up.
