ESPN Names Maria Taylor The New Host Of “NBA Countdown”

Maria Taylor burst upon the scene at ESPN in 2014 as part of their college football coverage as an analyst and reporter, quickly proving herself to be one of the best to roam the sidelines every Saturday.

The former basketball and All-SEC volleyball player for the Georgia Bulldogs expanded her presence to include lead host of ESPN’s women college basketball coverage, both during the regular season and the NCAA Tournament.

Today, Taylor, who we will be honoring this Thursday evening at the 6th Annual Shadow League Awards, had her presence grow even larger at the World Wide Leader as the network named her the host of “NBA Countdown” on both ESPN and ABC.

Per the release:

Maria Taylor will expand her role to host NBA Countdown, ESPN and ABC’s longstanding NBA pregame show, from ESPN’s Seaport Studios in New York. Taylor will also have a significant role hosting NBA Playoffs editions of NBA Countdown across ESPN networks. Her high-profile, multi-sport role will continue as an integral part of the College GameDay and ABC Saturday Night Football teams. Taylor will also continue in her role as lead host of ESPN’s women’s college basketball coverage, culminating with the NCAA women’s basketball tournament.

Congrats to Maria Taylor on her continued rise and success!
