Danny Jacobs, Gennady Golovkin and Stepe Miocic Deliver KO Action

Danny Jacobs Retains Middleweight Title via TKO over Sergio Mora in 7

Friday started off the knockout combat sports weekend right as Middleweight world champion Daniel “The Miracle Man” Jacobs (32-1) retained his title and knocked down former world champion Sergio “The Latin Snake” Mora (28-5-2).

But that wasnt the real impressive part. The fact that he knocked him down five times on his way to a seventh-round TKO in Premier Boxing Champions main event from Santander Arena in Reading, Pa was the most notable.

The bout, a rematch of their championship fight last August that saw Jacobs win by TKO, silenced the critics especially, Mora, who decried the loss as unjustified. Jacobs was dropped in the first round of their initial encounter and Mora suffered an ankle injury while receiving the punch that ended the first fight, claiming to have been pushed by Jacobs.

However, this fight confirmed The Miracle Mans prowess as Jacobs was in control early, attacking the body and switching between orthodox and southpaw stealthily. Although Mora used good head movement, frustrating Jacobs in the early rounds, he was effectively neutralized consistently.

The champion started the road to destruction in round four breaking through with a left hook to the head that sent Mora crumpling to the mat. Mora recovered, however he touched the mat again in round five.

Sensing his moment, Jacobs came out aggressive in the seventh round as he clearly sought an end to the fight. A left-right combo dropped Mora in the corner early in the round before he was dropped from a body shot moments after getting back on his feet.

Referee Gary Rosato let the fight continue, but Jacobs put a quick end to the night by smothering Mora and dropping him for the fifth and final time, forcing the referee to stop the bout at 2:08 into the round

This brings Jacobs TKO spree to 8 victims, which include Peter Kid Chocolate Quillin and Caleb Truax.

Gennady Golovkin Retains Middleweight Titles Stopping Kell Brook in 5

The Triple G train keeps steaming rolling through opponents as Kell Brook is the latest victim to taste defeat at the hands of the unbeaten Kazakh.

However, the victory was bittersweet for Golovkin who, for the first time, looked vulnerable against the smaller Brook. Although Golovkins signature power carried him to victory, as usual, Brook turned it on in round 2, using wide hooks around the side of Triple G’s guard and finally landed one statement-making uppercut in the final minute that had the crowd within Londons 02 Arena on their feet.

The Brit suffered a broken right eye socket and after another barrage by Golovkin in round 5, Brooks trainer Dominic Ingle first waved the towel for referee Marlon Wright to see before throwing it in the ring, signaling a stop to the action at 1:57 of round 5.

After Danny Jacobs win and discussion of negotiations for a GGG matchup, we can only wait and see who next will step up to battle for Middleweight supremacy. With the two of them on a knockout tear, this is definitely the fight fans will want to see.

Stipe Miocic Retains UFC Heavyweight title After Knocking Out Alistair Overeem at UFC 203

The UFC heavyweight title and sports supremacy reside in Cleveland after hometown champion Stipe Miocic survived Alistair Overeems early onslaught to win by knockout.

Miocic (16-2) capitalized on a slip by Overeem (41-15) the former kickboxing champion, late in the first round, catching him with some choice right hands and securing his first title defense at the 4:27 mark of the first round.

Miocic became just the eighth of 19 UFC heavyweight champions to make a successful title defense with the victory.

Miocic rallied from an early knockdown, capitalizing on a brutal onslaught of ground strikes, solidifying his championship reign spectacularly.
