Dwayne Wade is to take his business acumen platform beyond sports and athletic apparel by trying his hand at television. The Miami Heat hoop star will be adapting his best-selling book A Father First: How My Life Became Bigger than Basketball into a half-hour comedy with a script commitment from Fox. Titled Three the Hard Way, the Sony Pictures Television offering is inspired by Wade's parental relationship with his beloved sons, of course, with a plot line that centers around NBA player Darryl Wade. Yeah, they could have done better with the name selection. Darryl Wade? Really? Anyhow, the plot centers around his entourage and how they act as substitute parents while the figurative Wade is on the road. Ben Watkins of Burn Notice has signed on to write and executive produce the offering along with Wade.
