Brian Cushing Believes J.J. Watt Could Be One Of The Best Ever

Reggie White, Lawrence Taylor and Deion Sanders can move out the way. According to Houston Texans linebacker, Brian Cushing, they may want to make room for defensive end J.J. Watt. After recording 20.5 sacks and knocking down or tipping passes at the line of scrimmage at a record pace, Watt's name popped up in the MVP conversation throughout his second season. Let me repeat that. He's in his second year and already he's being mentioned alongside the all-time greats on the defensive end.

Via ESPN:

"The things that he's going to be able to accomplish are unbelievable," Cushing told ESPN.com's John Clayton last week in his "Inside The Huddle" podcast. "When you talk about the potential that he has of really being the greatest defensive player ever, he could be. I know that's very premature but he's that kind of player.

You know what each of those guys have in common though? They each have a Super Bowl ring. Watt's not quite there yet, but he's on the fast track.

However, Cushing is late to the party. Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips' said that Watt would be a Hall of Famer after his first season.
