The Ohio State Buckeyes are officially feeling themselves. Junior wide receiver Evan Spencer has been listening to all the talk surrounding the undefeated Buckeyes and the perception of the Big Ten. As it stands, the Buckeyes are sitting outside the national championship at No. 3 in the BCS standings.
Via CBS Sports:
Spencer was asked Monday how he felt his Buckeyes would shape up in a hypothetical matchup against Alabama and Florida State, the teams currently occupying the the top two slots in the BCS standings — and who, presumably, would deny even an undefeated Ohio State team from a shot at a BCS championship. Per the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, here's how Spencer responded:
"I'm a little biased, but I think we'd wipe the field with both of them."
The confidence he exuded is coming from a good place. After all, the Buckeyes haven't lost a game since 2011. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the entire locker room shares his sentiments. Especially given the smack talk from southerners and experts who believe that a one-loss SEC champ could pass them in the BCS standings–again. The Buckeyes want their shot and they're not afraid to let the rest of us know it.
