Battle Rapper LB da Boss Loses Life In Tragic Fishing Accident

The battle rap community mourns as one its own, battle rapper LB da Boss, lost his life this weekend after capsizing while fishing with two friends in Pennsylvania. The Staten Island rapper was a staple at the New Jersey-based rap league, Gates of the Garden, and amassed over 25 battles in his eight-year career.

According to AllHipHop.com, the rapper was on a fishing trip on Sunday, July 26th with Norristown rapper Bill Collector and another buddy. They took a small boat out on the Hopewell Lake in French Creek State Park when the boat turned over into the 20 ft. body of warm water. Two of the fishermen procured their own safety but LB was never was accounted for.

Bill Collector posted a cry for help on his Facebook, notifying the community that something had gone wrong on their outing. By 5:30 p.m., water rescue crews were on deck looking for the lost man. The search party stopped at 3:00 a.m. on Monday morning, only to start back up three hours later.

According to the WFMZ.com, the search and rescue teams looked over the park near the border between Berks and Chester counties, looking at the lake and along the shoreline.

It is unclear when or if the search and rescue turned into a search and recovery, but according to The Mercury, the 27-year-old rapper’s body was discovered at 1:15 p.m, July 28 by members of Boyertown-based Keystone Water Rescue and Recovery, acting Berks County Coroner Jonn M. Hollenbach said.

They also report that an autopsy is scheduled for July 29 in Reading Hospital.
