Only Charlotte, Toronto and Golden State has allowed Kobe Bryant to score more points per game against them, per game ,throughout his career than Portland. Portland is to Bryant, what Jordan was to Ehlo's Cavs or Ewing's Knicks. In 2000, Bryant stomped out the Blazers title hopes with the most memorable pass of his career in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals.
Nine years ago, Bryant delivered a game-tying and game-winning buzzer beater in Portland in the final game of the regular season. On Wednesday night, Bryant imposed his will on the Trailblazers yet again. With games remaining against San Antonio, Golden State and Houston, the Lakers needed this win to maintain their one-game lead over the Utah Jazz. Unlike the previous night in New Orleans, Bryant kept the pressure up for all 48 minutes scoring a season-high 47 points, sank all 18 of his free throw attempts, grabbed eight boards, four swats and just one turnover. From here on out, every game is Game 7.
On a sidenote, Bryant can stay play some defense when the moment calls for it.
