Boxing: Andre Ward vs. Sergey Kovalev 2
In a week full of sensationalism, the fact that Andre “S.O.G.” Ward (31-0) is returning to rematch Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev (30-1-1) has gone literally under the radar. In fact, it seems no one cares that much, even though Wards win in their first pairing has been deemed controversial. With the two ready to face off again this Saturday, it is a showdown to either complete the light heavyweight domination Ward is exhibiting, or Kovalev getting his redemption.

Ever since the fateful loss last November, Kovalev has gone on the rampage. He was so distraught with the loss that he blamed everything from the judges all being American to cardio overtraining before his last fight. His tasteless pre-fight hype fell on deaf ears and sparked an outrage at his cavalier attitude towards racial insensitivity. In short, Kovalev played himself in his off-season between fights. Now, with his pride and record yet again on the line, this fight will determine if he truly was robbed.

Ward, has kept cool during this whole process and although not known as a heavy hype marketer, he is showing and proving one fight at a time. When he decided to move up in weight, the entire goal was to dethrone Kovalev after demolishing the super middleweight division. Although the fight started off rocky, he accomplished that goal, winning by unanimous decision even after being knocked down in the second round. Ward has remained unbeaten and seemingly dominant until he met Kovalev.
Jumping up a weight class, the deck seemed stacked against Ward, but he proved that the skills which made him an Olympic gold medalist were enough to become a multi-weight class champion.

MMA: UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Correia
With all the talk about MMA fighters becoming boxers, let’s not forget about Holly Holm (10-3 MMA), the multi-champion boxer who converted to MMA. Conveniently, the UFC won’t let you as Holm travels to Singapore to wage a battle against Bethe Correia (10-2-1).
The former UFC Bantamweight champion, Holm returns to the division that made her a top draw after moonlighting in an inaugural featherweight championship bout against Germaine de Randamie. Holm lost a unanimous decision, bringing her current losing streak to three consecutive losses since losing the bantamweight title to Miesha Tate in March 2016. However, Tate is now retired and the current bantamweight champion, Amanda Nunes, shares a win over Ronda Rousey with Holm.
Fight Night Singapore: Holly Holm – I Want to Dominate
Holly Holm doesn’t just want to beat Bethe Correia at Fight Night Singapore, she wants to dominate.
As a former boxing champion, Holm has won 16 title defenses at three different weight classes. She was the first to defeat Ronda Rousey and win her bantamweight title and was an amateur kickboxing champion in her home state of New Mexico. If she were a man, she would be discussed as one of the greatest fighters to ever live just by virtues of trying every fighting sport and excelling.
Holm is the reason why boxers like Heather Hardy are entering MMA, to strike while the iron is hot based on the success of Rousey, Nunes, and Tate.
Correia is a Brazilian fighter that was famously the last win by Ronda Rousey during her historic championship run. After fighting to a draw this year against Marion Reneau, she is back for her biggest test to date against Holly Holm.
