UFC 200: Tate vs. Nunes

UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate has been promoted to the main event of UFC 200. The change came after Jon Jones was taken off the headlining slot with allegations of doping by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.

UFC President Dana White vowed to salvage UFC light heavyweight Daniel Cormiers spot on the card and he did not disappoint. Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has agreed to step up and fight Cormier at 205lbs in a non-title fight.

The blockbuster news came at a time when Jones removal from the card upset what was supposed to be the biggest UFC week of all time.

The line-up now consists of Tate vs. Nunes at the helm, the return of WWE superstar and former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar taking on Mark Hunt as the co-main event, and Cormier vs. Silva.

I fought on really big cards before, groundbreaking cards like when Anderson Silva fought Chris Weidman and I was the co-main event on that card, said Tate on the international conference call. So this is just definitely another day in the office for me something that Im completely used to.

With Silva added to the card a potential pay-per-view blunder might have been avoided with the removal of the Jones vs. Cormier rematch. Although Silva is on a three fight losing streak his importance in terms of legacy and willingness to step up last minute will undoubtedly rebound the blockbuster events pay-per-view projected sales.

Boxing: Mario Barrios vs. Devis Boschiero

If you are looking for a good boxing match, there is a scintillating match-up of 130 pounders brought by Premier Boxing Champions.

Undefeated Mario Barrios (15-0) faces former title challenger Devis Boschiero (39-4-1) in a match-up with potential title contention implications.

The San Antonio native, who will step in the ring for the ninth time in 16 months, won seven fights last year stopping five of his opponents inside the distance.

For Boschiero, a 34-year old Italian, this will be his first fight in America and he comes with considerable experience over Barrios.
