The Washington Nationals plan to hire Bud Black as their manager after the World Series, according to a report by the Washington Post.
Black was fired in June by the San Diego Padres, who underachieved this season after spending millions on high profile free agents in the off-season.
The Washington Nationals have an extremely talented squad which is expected to challenge the Mets in the NL East next season, but did they hire the right man for the job? Black owns a 649-713 career record, including only two winning seasons, zero division titles or playoff wins during his eight year tenure as manager of the Padres.
