The Shadow League recently had the chance to speak to WWE power players The Miz and Summer Rae, stars of the new movie The Marine 4: Moving Target, released April 21st on DVD and Blu-Ray in assoication with WWE Studios.
Summer Rae and The Miz are examples of how the WWE brand transcends wrestling and is a permanent part of American sports and entertainment culture.
Mike The Miz Mizanin first gained fame as a cast member on MTV’s The Real World: Back to New York, which first aired in 2001, and its spinoff series, Real World/Road Rules Challenge. He later entered the fourth season of Tough Enough, a televised competition which awarded the winner a WWE contract, and became the first runner-up.
Mizanin trained and wrestled in independent/developmental territories Ultimate Pro Wrestling, Deep South Wrestling, and Ohio Valley Wrestling prior to appearing in WWE and becoming a star and accomplished champion. He also appeared in Marine 3, following in the footsteps of legends Jon Cena (Marine 1) and Ted Dibiase Jr.(Marine 2).
In addition to her captivating wrestling exploits and hip gyrations, Summer Rae is a model, actress, and former American football player. Prior to joining WWE and changing her name, Danielle Moinet played with the Chicago Bliss of the Lingerie Football League. The 5-foot-10, statuesque blond bomber was also a main cast member of Total Divas for Season 2 and part of Season 3. Beware of her signature move, Summer Crush.
