FAMU alum and ASPiRE TV’s Rashan Ali, joined us on TSL Sports Talk this week to talk about her role in covering HBCU sports. TSL Sports Talk host, Mark Gray, talked to Ali about what it’s like working with Doug Stewart on HBCU football coverage for ASPiRE TV.
Ali:
It’s great. I love Doug Stewart and obviously his brother, Ryan Stewart, as well. To get the call to represent HBCU football is always great. Being a product of an HBCU, I’m proud of what football has done for our Black men. Before we even had an opportunity to play at these big time Division 1 schools, that’s all we had- HBCU football. So, to be able to represent it in that realm is fantastic and doing it with someone who actually played football and graduated from an HBCU is even better. We just have the synergy there. We know the love that’s there behind football and just the comradery and culture and passion behind HBCU football is just huge.
