This week, rapper Da Brat was forced to pay a $6 million judgment to a woman who sued her after a bar fight back in 2009. Da Brat had already served a three year jail sentence finished in 2011, and six months on house arrest over the drama where she took a bottle and bashed it over the head of an Atlanta Falcons cheerleader. Now, years later, the woman’s civil suit is finished, forcing the rapper – who hasn’t dropped an album in years – to fork over $3.7 million to cover the cheerleader’s medical costs of then and now, including injuries to her face, head, and mental suffering. The judge also added on another $2.7 million as punishment for the violence.
