Courtney D. Vance, an incredible actor of great work, has had his skills co-signed with a role written specifically with him in mind. Vance is set to co-star in the ABC medical drama Warriors. The film, inspired by DC’s military famous Walter Reed Medical Center, follows a crew of military doctors and nurses. Vance will play Navy Lt. Hennessey Fiske, an orthopedic surgeon with a specialty in neurology. The brain of the show, Vance’s character has the ability to build special wheelchairs and prosthetics for the soldiers who come with severe injuries. Vance and the show’s writer, Chris Keyser, were in the same class together at Harvard. But this will be their first time working together.
“Although I didn’t know Courtney in school, I’ve followed his career with the pride of a classmate,” Keyser said. “It’s only taken me 25 years to find the perfect part to bring to him. For this part of Dr. Fiske, Courtney was our first and only choice.”
