He didn't get as much pub as Derrick Rose, but Danny Granger spent all last season as a cheerleader and watched the entire playoffs in casual wear. Coming into the seaso the anticipation surrounding Granger's return to the Pacers lineup was palpable. It's a much different team than the one he left because of Paul George's progression into a star role. Lance Stephenson's emergence also allows the Pacers to bring their 30-year-old swingman off the bench as the 6th man and as the second unit's primary scorer. There's also a third-option that hasn't been discussed too often. Granger's contract expires after the season and he could also be trade bait before the deadline. But first, interested teams would have to see him in action to discern what type of player they are getting.
If you want to see Granger in action, you'll have to wait a little longer. According to the Indiana Pacers, a strained calf has convinced the franchise to shut Granger down for the next three weeks as a precautionary measure.
