The NFL Draft came and went and not one HBCU football player was drafted. COVID, lack of games, strength of schedule and lack of exposure were all used as excuses.
No matter how you slice it, it’s a disgrace and a slap in the face to some athletic gems that the HBCU has produced.
But with some sure-fire NFL-caliber players coming out next season at prime positions, Mark Gray poses the question, “What excuse will the NFL come up with” at the 2022 NFL Draft to totally disregard the hard-working and talented HBCU players.
This is not a story that needs to be forgotten in a week or a month. It’s inexcusable and the NFL needs to keep getting called on it.
