LeBron James looks ready to make a real run at NBA title No. 4 after Thursday night’s scrimmage against the Dallas Mavericks.
The King also did what he’s done many times and used a national platform to voice his opinions about social and racial injustice and keep the spotlight on continuing to challenge systemic racism and unprosecuted police brutality.
James was very open and expressive to reporters about exactly where he stands on the issue of preserving, saving and defending Black Lives. He also offered solutions to solving racial divisions and demanded justice for Breonna Taylor.

With Black Lives Matter emblazoned on the court, in limited play, Bron and his younger wingman Anthony Davis gave everyone a glimpse of the dominance that they are capable of as a tandem.
Then after the game, he eloquently, passionately, and definitively addressed issues that are at the forefront of our country today.

LeBron also clarified misconceptions about the actual meaning of “Black Lives Matter.”
“A lot of people kind of use this analogy, talking about Black Lives Matter as a movement. It’s not a movement,” James said to ESPN. “When you’re Black, it’s not a movement. It’s a lifestyle. We sit here and say it’s a movement, and, OK, how long is this movement going to last? ‘Don’t stop the movement.’ No, this is a walk of life. When you wake up and you’re Black, that is what it is. It shouldn’t be a movement. It should be a lifestyle. This is who we are.”
Yeah…LeBron James had the choice to keep the conversation light after the scrimmage, but he decided to spill his guts. Return the focus away from meaningless basketball games and back onto Breonna Taylor and social change and racial equality.
He’s proving that you can do both: Champion For Equality And Dribble.
Bron wore #Justice4BreonnaT on his sneakers. He also recalled George Floyd’s death, which sparked outrage and unified much of the country resulting in massive protests across the globe.

It’s clear to see that LeBron James will use his platform and his opportunities and post game pressers much differently this season. There won’t be a game that is played in which the outcome of that game will supersede the importance of moving towards social change, and those who fail to grasp what is happening in this country and why the players are so vocal and eager to even up the playing field for Black people are in for a long bubble season. Bron is focused and so are the other players in the league.
It’s no mystery that Bron is the top spokesperson among NBA players. His words have more impact than anyone else’s. With the NBA’s best player also leading the social justice agenda, inevitably the rest of the players in the league also feel free to express themselves. The NBA allowing social justice messages on the back of jerseys is an example of the league also investing in, listening, and responding to the concerns of its players.

What is transpiring inside of the Disney bubble is not only a bold and historic social and science experiment, but also a cultural transformation of drastic proportions within corporate America, where Blacks may not yet have the financial resources to set the power structure, but are gaining leverage and power through various platforms, unity and the support, the voice of the people.
