UFC’s Angela Hill Thinks She Beat Claudia Gadelha

Angela “Overkill” Hill feels like she got robbed. After her decision loss to Claudia Gadelha at UFC on ESPN 8, she feels one of the most pivotal wins of her career was stolen from her.

Hill (12-8) came out on the wrong end of a somewhat controversial split decision against Claudia Gadelha (18-4) in their strawweight co-headliner on Saturday. Instead of a fourth straight win for “Overkill,” two of three judges saw it the other way.

However, Hill let it be known that she “can’t stop, won’t stop.”

“I won that fight @danawhite. Book me on the island, Arizona, apex wherever and I’ll carve up more of your girls. Ready to go next week.”

Hill has been on a roll, recently. Last Saturday, marked her fifth fight in the past 15 months, most short notice, and she was on a three-fight win streak. However, a win over Claudia Gadelha would’ve her closer to her dream of becoming the first African-American woman to challenge for UFC gold.

Seventeen media outlets scored Hill vs. Gadelha on MMADecisions.com and 13 had the fight for Hill by a score of 29-28. Although Hill had a slow start, she scored a knockdown in the second before showing she can crack with impressive striking in the third round.

However, the call went the other way.

Hill did not receive a medical suspension stemming from the event and said she could be ready to go for the UFC’s next planned event on May 30th.

One thing for certain, Hill won’t be stopped and is looking to match her peers: Tyron Woodley, Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones as another champion of African-American decent, but the first female.
