Kobe Bryant is gone.
According to multiple reports, Bryant, 41, his daughter Gianna, 13, and others died on Sunday in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California.
“Sources: Kobe Bryant was on his way to a travel basketball game with his daughter Gianna when the helicopter crashed. Those aboard the helicopter also included another player and parent,” tweeted ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
TMZ was the first outlet to break the news of the crash and the deaths involved.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the helicopter was a Sikorsky S-76, as an investigation is going on to determine what happened. NBC Los Angeles reported that the crash was called in at 9:47 a.m. PST, as the fire department reported no survivors.
The crash took place a day after LeBron James passed Bryant, in his hometown of Philadelphia, for third place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.
“Continuing to move the game forward @KingJames. Much respect my brother ?? #33644,” Bryant wrote in his final tweet.
Bryant won two Olympic gold medals (2008 & 2012), five NBA titles, two NBA Finals MVPs, and one regular-season MVP in his career. He was the No. 13 overall in the 1996 Draft by the Charlotte Hornets, and had both this No. 8 and No. 24 jerseys retired by the Lakers. Bryant scored 60 points in his last game, and led the Lakers to a 101-96 win over the Utah Jazz.
He is survived by his wife, Vanessa, and daughters, Natalia, Bianca, and Capri.
