According to reports from The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Cousins plans to make his season debut on Jan. 18 against the Los Angeles Clippers.
This game is the first on a five-game road trip for the Warriors, which begins with two games in L.A.
Cousins spent the past eleven months recovering from a torn Achilles tendon. An injury he sustained back in late January last season for the New Orleans Pelicans—in a game against the Houston Rockets.
His injury resulted in the Pelicans not re-signing Cousins—but who could blame them. Injuries such as the one Cousins endured are often career ending. However, luckily for the NBA star, signing him was a risk the Warriors were willing to take.
Now no one is saying Cousins return to the Warriors is what Vibranium is to Wakanda. However, if Cousins’ performance on the 18th is a good one, the Warriors might prove to be a bigger problem than the other teams originally thought.
