TSL Sports Talk Recap: Corey Parson

We are down to the final two weeks before playoffs in fantasy football and Sirius XM’s Fantasy Football Exec, Corey Parson, joined us on TSL Sports Talk for our weekly fantasy football update. Check out some of the highlights.

Parson, on considering weather to be a factor on your starting players:

I wouldn’t change my lineup too much because of the weather. Look at the situation from two weeks ago between New England and Denver. There’s always going to be wind and it’s always going to be snowing and there’s going to be a blizzard. New England came out there and still dropped 40 on Denver with no problems whatsoever. Look at the classic game from last season- Detroit and Philadelphia in a blizzard. LeSean McCoy goes on with over 200 yards and Calvin Johnson goes on with 100 years and some change and two touchdowns. One of the most entertaining games of the year, also one of the highest point total games of the year. Don’t really consider weather too much in your analysis…and do not sit Sammy Watkins because of the weather. Defenses worry about weather, not offenses.

On Jonas Gray:

Steven Ridley is no longer on the lineup, Brandon Bolden is also a guy they mainly use on special teams, so that makes Jonas Gray the lead dog running between the tackles… He’s a good in between the tackles runner, as Belichick likes. Now, a lot of his production is going to depend on game flow… This week they take on the Lions’ defense where they shouldn’t be able to run the ball up and down the field against the Lions, who have one of the best defenses in the NFL this year. But the way the Patriots have been playing, I would lean more towards Shane Vereen than Jonas Gray, but he’s a guy you definitely want to get up in your line up, at least as a flex anyway.
