Unless you're colorblind (no disrespect), you noticed a lot of NFL players and coaches rockin' the color pink this past weekend. It's October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and for the fourth consecutive year, the NFL is participating via its "A Crucial Catch" campaign. The campaign is the NFL’s major directive towards raising breast cancer awareness and money for research. This year the NFL has stepped its game up and gotten creative with their pink gear and accessories.

In addition, some players have gone the extra yard to better the cause. We all know Larry Fitzgerald's got deep pockets, and props to the man, for donating his stacks for a good cause. Unfortunately, Fitzgerald has a personal connection to the disease, losing his mother to breast cancer in 2003. For every Facebook and Twitter follower he gains this month, he will donate 25 cents; not to mention a grand for each of his receptions, and $5Gs per touchdown. That's about eight large for his Thursday night performance at St. Louis. With the Bills 26th-ranked pass D scheduled this upcoming Sunday, it could be another charitable week.

Von Miller, also has personal ties to breast cancer. The Broncos’ second year star has teamed up with Dick’s Sporting Goods for their “Sport Your Support” campaign.

Though separate from breast cancer awareness, let’s not forget about CHUCKSTRONG, the Colts campaign to honor and support their head coach Chuck Pagano, who was recently diagnosed with leukemia.

Moving past the replacement referee embarrassment with a second solid week of football, and, a few good deeds this weekend, the NFL is on the way back to looking like a million bucks… Or shall I say, (multi) billion.
