According To Tony Dungy, Richie Incognito’s Red Flags Date Back To College

Even before the revelations began pouring out of the Dolphins camp about Richie Incognito, there were concerns about the Dolphins lineman's character. Last season, In 2009, Incognito was waived by the Rams after getting into a sideline argument with St. Louis Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo, he head butted two players and he was recently voted "The NFL's Dirtiest Player" by his peers. The anomaly on his resume is the NFL Good Guy Award he was given last season. Back when he was the Indianapolis Colts head coach, Tony Dungy saw trouble brewing. Dungy has so much of an issue with Incognito that he considered him undraftable in 2005.

Via Pro Football Talk:

Former Bucs and Colts coach Tony Dungy echoed that sentiment earlier in the hour on The Dan Patrick Show.  Dungy explained that, when Incognito entered the draft in 2005, the Colts had him on the “DNDC” list, which means “do not draft because of character.”

At the time of the draft, Pioli was the New England Patriots' V.P. of Player Personnel. He also echoed Dungy's remarks.

During last night’s edition of Football Night in America on NBC, former Patriots V.P. of player personnel and Chiefs G.M. Scott Pioli (who should be getting some credit for the talent he left for the new 9-0 regime in Kansas City) told Dan Patrick, ”I didn’t want [Incognito] coming out [of college], and I don’t want him now.”

Congratulations, Incognito. Not only is he no longer a no-name offensive lineman, but he's also the NFLPA's Most Wanted and nearly approaching Riley Cooper radioactivity levels.
